Ka'oha nui!

Cruising on the Aranui 3 again for my third lecture tour (twice this year!). Each time I make this voyage I am entranced with more and more cultural heritage details, as well as blessed to meet more and more heartwarming people. 

Looking through my thousands of photos I can see a nice little story-line coming into focus, but for now I've shared a few random photos of my August 2012 voyage in three different posts:

My favorite salad ever! Poisson Cru - raw fish (tuna), lime, onion or garlic, tomatoes, cucumber, sometimes carrots, and always fresh squeezed coconut milk! Yummy!!!

Umuhei, or Kumuhei, aromatics blended together (sandalwood powder, pineapple, coconut oil, herbs etc) and made into a lei, or hei (necklace or hair ornament)

Ke'etu stone (red tuff) that is used in honor of someone special or highranking, and two stone tiki laid upon the steps of the neighboring church house, at Puamau, Hiva Oa.
